2. needn't have done = -mesine gerek yoktu (boşuna yaptı)
You needn't have taken a taxi. / Taksi tutmana gerek yoktu. (Boş yere tuttun.)
She needn't have woken the children at eight. /Çocuklarını saat sekizde uyandırmasına gerek yoktu.
